Welcome!

Here is Lempaute, my new foster baby elephant. Lempaute is just over a month old, and was found abandoned at age 2 weeks. She was left behind by her herd because she couldn't keep up, but fortunately she latched on to a group of rangers and they led her to the elephant orphanage.



She is very tiny and was sick at the time of rescue, but she seems to be thriving in her new home.

And making lots of friends!












More close-ups hopefully coming soon after this blogger's contact in Africa goes to visit Lempaute and put her to bed tonight.
