MTV hijaked my Saturday afternoon with a Laguna Beach 3 marathon.
LB was sort of boring.
LB2 was an entertaining display of spoiled and dumb kids at their best.
LB3 escalated to a shocking shocking display of how it is possible for humans to stop having souls by age 16.
I got sucked in because Tessa seemed sort of sweet (though even she turned out sort of pathethic...of course not as pathetic as Jessica hanging out for another season) and watching the "cool" girls rip her apart was like a car wreck. Why are those girl so mean! What makes them think they're cool! Cami is disgusting! I can't even look at her without wanting to punch her and those gross ill-fitting sunglasses! She is dumb and funny lookin and clearly on the same Beer Gut Express diet favored by the entire Georgetown female population attending Hoyas games.
Future generations are going to look at this show and think this is what our society is like. And worse, I'm going to be stuck looking at Cami's gross face in US Weekly for the next year when she decides to pretend to be an actress.
One relief is that when I seemlessly incoporated a Laguna discussion into today's class, the students were anti the Cami group too, so at least all adolescents aren't morally bankrupt. Yet.
