Thanks for letting a sister roll...

Keep it pimpin'

I'm completely obsessed with Otis Redding these days. Like "I think my wedding song needs to be by Otis Redding" obsessed. His music is awesome, I highly recommend it. And delve beyond Sittin on the Dock of the Bay.

I'm also on a Dylan kick, but everyone knows he's awesome (I'm just late to the game on that one).

It's all part of my general obsession with the 60s. I've read every book I can find about the Kennedys. Every weekend at the shore I try to coerce someone to accompany me to see the Geator (with the Heater, the Boss with the Hot Sauce), usually to no avail. I would kill to be able to dance on American Bandstand. And I spent the summer watching dvds of this almost exclusively and actually getting really sad that I missed out on all the fun. Except for that pesky Vietnam War part. Yes, color tv and the internet are all well and good, but they're no Bandstand.

Also, Today's Sign of the Apocalypse: My friends (male and female) and I spent a large portion of our Saturday night discussing weddings. Sigh.

They filmed Bandstand in Philly. Matt's mother was telling me how she and her girlfriends sneaked onto the show when they were 14. Too bad you weren't around to join in the fun. Hope today went well!
