It all comes down to this...
Thursday, 7:10 pm, Duke vs. LSU, all my bracket hopes come down to this game.
As I had hoped, going into the Sweet 16, I'm #1 in 2 pools and a close 2nd in the 3rd. A solid 20/32, with my only losses coming from shockers like Bradley, GMU, and of course the Shockers themselves. Final Four's intact, and even Elite Eight's looking pretty good. The only real difference between me and my opponents at the top is Duke. I have Duke losing tomorrow, they all have Duke advancing to the Final Four. So basically, if LSU wins tomorrow and everything else goes as planned (and if I were a gambling girl, which of course I'm not), I have a nice pot coming to me from all my brackets combined. Of course, given the unpredictability of March Madness, my winner UConn could go down right after Duke and my whole plan could be shot, but right now all I can see is sweet victory and dollar signs.
I don't mean to sound greedy or like a braggart; I'd really just like to win something of (relative) importance for once. The last time I won something was 3rd grade when I won a gift certificate for one reason or another to Kiddie City. Kiddie City promptly burned down that weekend. Some people may count winning a rain jacket for Jump Rope for Heart, but I believe it disintegrated in the rain so I don't count it. And of course I was the wrapping paper queen of MMA 4 years straight, but again, doesn't count because that was a skill. I never win anything where luck is involved, I'm the unluckiest person ever. Until, perhaps, this year...

I'm with you on the need for LSU to beat Duke - if that happens, I take my school pool, recup all my entry fees, and cement my place as a god among mere law school mortals. They might be smarter and better looking than me, but at least I'll have their money.

Cheers to us for correctly predicting the downfall of J.J.
Double cheers to you for decimating the rest of our pool in the process.

I have no idea whose graderoom I was in sophomore year, but I don't think it was Senora's...I've been thinking about it all night/day.
Thanks Tales. I almost felt bad for a second when Reddick started crying. UCLA's comeback was big for me too, but talk about a devastating loss for Gonzaga.
