I'm going with the random thoughts motif for blogging this week...
After week one in the NBA, a few thoughts:
The Bucks are good. Which shouldn't really be a surprise since they just barely missed the playoffs, got the #1 pick in the draft, and had arguably their best player return. The Celtics have a bright future (hooray for Delonte. and maybe it was just because I was in Boston, but in the game against the Pistons Friday, the two baskets made in under a second was one of the coolest things I've seen.). Clips look like they'll be good, but something bad will happen to them. Kobe could average 35 for the season and the Lakers still won't get anywhere. The Heat have been disappointing, even without Shaq. Denver had a lot of potential, but have an uphill battle after multiple OT losses and losing a key player for the season on opening night for the 2nd year in a row. The Spurs are unbeatable. Oh, and the best part of the season so far? The Knicks are 0-4.
Also, I had the misfortune of happening upon the Martha show this morning...Never in my life have I seen anyone so blatantly unhip trying so hard to be carefree and hip, frolicking around in the intro, dancing and laughing. I don't have a problem with Martha--I could watch her cook and set a table until the cows come home--but I can't imagine a buddy talk show is going to be a successful format for her.
