Arrrrr
Today is National Talk Like a Pirate Day, extending the bottomless theme of the weekend into Monday with the bottomless craziness/annoyance of most of my office mates actually following the talk like a pirate rules and going by their pirate names.
Since Saturday night featured bottomless memory loss as well as bottomless fun, I'm gonna go with Red Lobster as the highlight of the weekend. And to think, I was going to skip the trip simply because a) I don't like seafood, especially not in all-you-can-eat portions and b) I was sort of proud of never going to a Red Lobster. I had indigestion the rest of the night from the chicken fingers (as a chicken finger connoisseur I'll admit I'm a bit picky, but it's pretty hard to screw up appetizers and these were gross) but watching my companions gorge themselves on shrimp was highly enjoyable. Now that we know the deal is legit, I suggest another outing where we plan ahead and really go for record-breaking shrimp consumption. We'll add it to the 107 other things we have planned for the next month.
For those of you who didn't believe my dad's last blog story about setting off the smoke detector, I can attest that it can happen. It did happen, in fact, Saturday night, when I apparently took a foray into sleepwalking and got up in the middle of the night, turned the shower on hot, shut the door, and went back to sleep until the smoke detector went off from all the steam. One more reason I usually stay away from LIT's and will continue to in the future.
And finally, add me to the list of people raving about Kotobuki sushi restaurant in Palisades. For atmosphere and tastiness, the bf and I prefer Suski-Ko, but Kotobuki was pretty delicious and best of all I think my 3 different rolls of sushi cost about $8. Combine that with the sake served out of a wooden box with margarita salt, and it was an excellent dining experience all around.
