hmm...hey ma works too. maybe i'll alternate. for those of you not privy to the african-american ways of speech, "thanks for letting a sister roll" is used in conjunction with "thanks for rollin' with a brotha" to signify "nice speaking with you, goodbye!" 103.9 or power 99 used to say it when people called in then they just stopped. However, the station down here says it on their car phone check on the drive home and both the music and the interactions are quite enjoyable. Here it is used in a conversation:
DJ: "car phone check in, who this?" "This is Lashondra, I'm on 95 on my way home to see my man." DJ: "Ok Lashondra, you better treat yo' man good when you get there. Thanks for rolling with a brotha" Lashondra: "Thanks for letting a sister roll!"
Hi Alexis, thanks for the "shout out" on colleen's blog. I appreciate that.
I find the name of your blog rather funny and amuzing. I don't really know you all that well but from what I have seen it surprises me that you listen to 103.9 or Power 99 FM. "OHH OHH OHH" Uncle-O and Cosmic Kev.
What I want to know is.. Do you like Hip Hop? Do you dance to HH?
